Youths still missing in Trishuli


CHITWAN, JUN 18 -

Despite relentless efforts, security personnel have not been able to trace four women and a man, who went missing in the Trishuli River in Kurintar on Saturday, till Tuesday morning.
The security personnel from the Disaster Management Training Centre of the Armed Police Force in Kurintar searched for the victims throughout the day on Monday but failed to locate them. DSP Dipendra Giri said they are facing difficulties to search themissing due to the increasing water level in the river.
The victims have been identified as Rajani Regmi and her sisters Liza Regmi and Monika Regmi and their friends Asmita Thapa as well as Janak Raut. The Regmi’s brother Prashanta is safe in the incident.
The victims, who went to Kurintar in Darechok VDC along Prithvi Highway to enjoy holiday, were the permanent residents of Bharatpur-5 in the district. The victims went to Kurintar on motorcycles in the morning. They went to the river bank after taking lunch at a Kurintar-based resort.
